CECT S688 Phone - Quick Performance, A Great Camera, And Headphone Output Are Among The Features

CECT is no longer the new kid on the block who convincingly copied and improved upon the iPhone in the form of the P168. Since that time, this Chinese cell phone manufacturer has rolled out several best selling models including the A380i, the Hiphone i32, the N95 (Nokia clone), and the A8+. Within the last year, this company has really established itself as a high quality electronics manufacturer in its own right.
The S688 is the newest in the lineup and although it has many of the features of the above mentioned popular models, it has added a few new ones and taken away some others.
Sure, all of the normal CECT specifications are standard on this phone, including: the ability to surf the web; email; listen to and watch MP3s and MP4s; take digital photos and video on the built in camera and webcam; and enjoy Bluetooth 2.0.
But, here’s what’s been added: an FM radio; an e book reader; a 3.5 mm headphone output; expandable 2GB of memory; and a 2.0 mega pixel camera with advanced editing features. The additional memory and the sleek size of this phone make for a very zippy performance.
In my testing, this model was among the fastest of the clones. All of these phones are fast. I’m only talking milliseconds here, but this one was the most speedy.
Here is what the S688 does not have: shake and tilt technology (that’s on the HiPhone and A380i); and dual sim slots. This one is only single sim. However, it still does not require and software. It will automatically read any GSM sim.
Although this model is a little different, the new additions must be well liked because it has been a brisk seller. The customer satisfaction on this phone is high. The price can vary greatly, ranging any where from $120 to $160. This will probably come down a bit over time, but seems reasonable for all of the features you are getting. I really enjoy mine, especially the e book reader and the higher quality camera.
