Nuance Announces Voice Control for Mass Market Phones
Today Nuance Communications announced its NVC 2.0 product, which will allow users of most mass market feature phones to control their devices with their voice. NVC 2.0, which is for network operators and handset makers to enable, can recognize speech on both the handset and through the network. Carriers and phone makers will be able to voice-enable many different features and actions on the end devices. Some of the possibilities include voice-activated dialing, free-form web search, text message dictation, navigation, social media applications and more. The software is available to network operators and handset makers starting today.
